Learning Photoshop

I am learning Photoshop. I have to be honest and admit that I was scared of Photoshop, but I am digging in and conquering my fears. It really isn’t that bad. Some of the courses I have been taking have Photoshop tutorials and I am currently working my way through them.

When I first started learning to draw on the computer, I started with the vector drawing program Inkscape.  There came a time when my work outgrew Inkscape and it required a switch to Adobe Illustrator. This was the same week my computer died. There were a lot of tears learning a new system and software all at the same time. It didn’t help that we were in the middle of a very large web design project and I had to learn everything on the fly.

That was several years ago now and is just a faint memory, but I suspect that it is the reason why I have hesitated learning Photoshop. Where there once was fear, now there is excitement at all the possibilities. I can’t wait to share more of this journey with you.

  1. HA! It’s about time you got on the Photoshop bandwagon, Honey! 🙂 You will love it, I promise. Since you have the CC account you can go between Illustrator and PS, and I’m pretty sure that a lot of the functions and features are the same or cross over between. Pretty sweet deal. I recently purchased Lightroom and THAT has (it seems) an even bigger learning curve than PS. Not sure I like that so much. Your graphics are really coming along lately. Have fun!

  2. Hey Dawn! Thanks for your comment. Photoshop is so very different than Illustrator. I like Photoshop and I can see that it will be very useful with some of the designs I am wanting to create. I use Lightroom, but only to import photos from the camera. Thank you for the kind words about my graphics. I have learned so much in the last seven years. ~ Honey
